What is Sustainability-in-Action?

Sustainability-in-action is education in and implementation of activities that reduce harm to the environment and increase social equity. Sustainability in action delivers tangible increases in nature positive and socially impactful production, consumption and operations. Examples of sustainability in action include reducing energy consumption, waste reduction, reuse and recycling of materials, resource efficiency, reduced emissions, local sourcing, community engagement, fair trade, skills development and climate positive messaging. Businesses deploying sustainability in action take direct and dynamic responsibility to improve their organisation’s social and environmental impact. Sustainability in action means equitable focus and leadership around sustainable decision-making, production, investment and stakeholder interactions as to creating financial value.
